A look at the week ahead

As today is a quiet day as far as announcements and speeches are concerned, it is a good time to have a look at the week ahead and take note of the important events coming up. This week brings with it a release of some vital economic figures. There are also a number of key speakers set to deliver addresses at different engagements.

Tuesday: China CPI, German Prelim GDP, UK CPI, European Flash GDP and EU Economic Forecasts.

Wednesday: US PPI, UK Average Earnings Index and Claimant Count Change. Meanwhile, Fed Reserve Chairperson, Janet Yellen is due to speak/testify before the Senate Banking Committee. Fed Reserve Member Robert Kaplan is also due to speak.

Thursday: US CPI & Core CPI, US Retail & Core Retail Sales, US Crude Oil Inventories and Australian Employment Change & Unemployment Rate. Meanwhile, Fed Reserve Chairperson, Janet Yellen, continues her testimony before the Senate Banking Committee. Fed Reserve Member Patrick Harker is also due to speak.

Friday: US Building Permits, Philly Fed Manufacturing Index, Unemployment Claims & Mortgage Delinquencies. Finally, we round out the week with UK Retail Sales data.
