Reasonably quiet day as we head into the holiday weekend

December 23, 2016

A relatively quiet day on the announcement front today as we head into the Christmas holiday weekend.

The UK are releasing a few pieces of data later tonight, including: Current Account, Final GDP, Index of Services and Revised Business Investment data. The Current Account data shows the difference in value between imported and exported goods (especially crucial to the economy after the Brexit vote). The GDP is vital in determining the growth of the UK economy.

The US is releasing New Home Sales, Revised UoM (University of Michigan) Consumer Sentiment & Revised UoM Inflation Expectations.

Elsewhere, Europe is releasing GfK German Consumer Climate and French Consumer Spending. Switzerland is releasing KOF Economic Barometer data, while finally, Canada is relasing GDP figures.

On behalf of the staff at Klimex Capital Markets, we would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas. Stay safe, have fun and enjoy the time with loved ones. For those that do not celebrate Christmas, we hope you enjoy the holiday period with your loved ones as well.
