Busy day of announcements, headed by the EU and US

October 26, 2016

A busy day ahead on the announcement front, with both the EU and US leading the way.

Out of Europe, a number of announcements are being made. German Consumer Climate, German Import Prices and Italian Retail Sales are all being released later today. Consumer Climate gives an indication of consumer confidence.  Italian Retail Sales gives us a reflection of consumer spending within the Italian economy.

The US are also releasing a few pieces of data. They include: Goods Trade Balance, Prelim Wholesale Inventories Flash Services PMI, New Home Sales and Crude Oil Inventories.  Goods Trade Balance as it shows the difference in value between imported and exported goods. PMI is keenly watched as it indicates how well the Services industry is performing. Like Services, the Home Sales data is important at it reflects consumers willingness to purchase new homes.

Elsewhere, the UK are releasing Mortgage Approval figures while Australia will be releasing quarterly CPI figures.
