Markets light-on for announcements, a look at the week ahead
A quiet day for markets as far as announcements go, with only a few pieces of information being released. This allows us to take a look at the week ahead.
The data set for release today includes: German PPI, German Buba Monthly Report, Canadian Wholesale Sales and Australian CB (Conference Board) Leading Index. There are also a few speakers set to deliver addresses at various commitments. These are: German Buba President Jens Weidmann, FOMC Member Charles Evans and UK MPC (Monetary Policy Committee) Member Andy Haldane.
As for the rest of the week, there are a few important announcements coming up, as well as some key people delivering speeches.
Tuesday: UK CPI, PPI, RPI and Public Sector Net Borrowing. FOMC Member, William Dudley is set to speak. President Donald Trump is also set to address a rally.
Wednesday: Japan Trade Balance & Monetary Policy Meeting Minutes.
Thursday: US Crude Oil Inventories & Existing Home Sales. UK Retail Sales. UK MPC Member Ben Broadbent is set to speak as well as US Fed Chair, Janet Yellen.
Friday: US Core Durable Orders, Flash Manufacturing & Services PMI’s. European, German & French Flash Manufacturing & Services PMI’s. FOMC Members Neel Kashkari, Robert Kaplan & Charles Evans are all due to speak.
