Markets look to US GDP figures tonight

A busy night for markets, with plenty of announcements due from the US, Europe and also the UK.

The most significant data released tonight is the Final GDP figure. As the world’s largest economy, markets look to the strength of the US economy as the world continues its economic recovery from the GFC. It has been a long road to recovery, which continues almost a decade later. GDP is vital to the economy as it reflects the percentage of economic growth over the previous quarter. Other data to be released by the US includes: Unemployment Claims, Final GDP Price Index and Natural Gas Storage.

Elsewhere around the world, there is still plenty of figures set for publication. These include:

Europe – GfK German Consumer Climate, German Prelim CPI and Spanish Flash CPI

UK – Net Lending to Individuals, M4 Money Supply, Mortgage Approvals and GfK Consumer Confidence
