UK & Europe once again share spotlight

Another busy day for markets as both announcements and speakers keep traders’ appetite for information satisfied.

What is sure to be the most important piece of information today, the UK is releasing its Second Estimate GDP figure. The growth in the UK is seen a crucial, particularly in a post-Brexit referendum world. It is imperative for not only the UK economy, but world economies, that the UK is seen to be experiencing growth. The UK is still considered one of the world’s economic leaders, so it is important that their economy remain healthy. The UK are also releasing Prelim Business Investment and Index of Services data.

Europe is publishing a host of data once again. Data due for publication includes: Credit Suisse Economic Expectations for Switzerland, German Ifo Business Climate, European CPI & Final CPI, European Long Term Refinancing Operation and Belgian NBB Business Climate.

Elsewhere around the world, Canada is reporting its Retail & Core Retail Sales data, US is releasing Existing Home Sales figures and China is publishing CB (Conference Board) Leading Index information. Finally, FOMC (Fed Reserve) Member Jerome Powell is set to speak, FOMC Meeting Minutes from last meeting are set for release and UK MPC (Monetary Policy Committee) Members Jon Cunliffe & Nemat Shafik are also set to deliver addresses.
